Hello folks!

One Month to Go!!!

And The Goblin Masquerade is on Saturday 9th March, in Borth Community Hall. Evening tickets are now available!

The Afternoon Entertainment!

The Goblin Market (with free entry) runs from 1pm - 6pm, and we have some amazing folk lined up to bring delight to all who attend! In no particular order, here are your wonderful performers for the afternoon, including storytellers, musicians, dancers, and robots!

Sonya Smith - Sonya Smith is a Singer Songwriter playing acoustic guitar. Influenced by the sounds of the Blues, Americana, and Folk music, her wide ranging lyrical voice, described as “ Honey Sweet & Blue “ the “Voice of an Angel “ and “ Beautiful & Haunting”, will take you on a journey of the heart with songs of love lost & found. - Sonya's Website.

Jessica Law and the Outlaws - Original songs of myth, magic and mayhem with a folky vibe. Jessica Law has a bit of a cult following from her work on The Magnus Archives and in The Mechanisms. The Outlaws are Nimue Brown, Keith Errington and James Weaslegrease - Jessica Law and the Outlaws on Facebook.

Donna Males - Donna Males is a singer/songwriter/Ukelele-ist who resides on the outskirts of nowhere in particular. Donna has been singing for many years in a 5 piece Rock & Folk band, and these days she sings solo with her beloved Ukelele for accompaniment. Donna will deliver a mixture of original folk & pop songs fused with some great covers mostly from the 80's, 90's & 00's. Do expect some passionate renditions of some of the great classics . Jay Cowen - I'm a gobliny Bard hoping to bring a little joy wherever I can sneak onstage!

Xan - Fresh new storyteller, excited to share a few tales of the mischievous creatures we see when we’re not quite looking.

Tribal Unity Wales - Tribal Unity Wales are FCBD style bellydancers, sharing their passion for this dance style in their community. All performances are improvised, creating magic from the music with every dance. Find Tribal Unity Wales on facebook!

Chantelle Smith - Chantelle Smith is a folk singer and songwriter living in North Wiltshire. The songs she has written and the traditional songs she sings are the crossroads where her love of storytelling, mythology, magic, ancient history and the natural world meet. Singing unaccompanied, or accompanied by harp, guitar or shruti box, Chantelle will whisk you into the realms of the imagination with her music. - Chantelle's website


Improv Typist - Unique typewritten flash fiction inspired by your words. Give Adam three words and a name and he'll give you the story. - Adam's Website.


Steampunk Stephen and Dizzy the Droid! - A steampunk walkabout from the robotics club in Aberystwyth, Dizzy the Droid is a familiar and much loved sight around local, and not so local, events.


And then... The Ball!

After the Goblin Market we turn the space around and the Fairytale Ball doors open again at 7pm! Music starts at 7:30pm... with the fabulous...

Talis Kimberley, with Thomas Brown - Contemporary folksongs with sharp green edges & a whimsical heart, story-songs & whimsy-geekery to delight and enthrall! - Find Talis' website here.

Backtrax - Dynamic three piece, bringing you all your favourite tunes from the fifties to the noughties. Guaranteed to get you dancing. - Check out Backtrax here!


Misha and the Kings - High energy performances from Aberystwyth based Indie Pop Rock band Misha and the Kings.

Four different personalities make up this fusion of passion and honed talent, bringing to you a performance to remember.

With a tendency to surprise, this band keep giving, and keep things fresh by consistently expanding their repertoire with punchy originals and other reworked songs. Sounds which consist of electric guitar, cool bass, sassy drums, with flecks of brass ‘Flugelhorn’. Keyboard and beat boxing make appearances, and a smooth strong vocal from lead singer Misha will carry you into the night.

In Other News:

On 26th April Milly Jackdaw and myself, Halo Quin, will be bringing Thereby Hangs a Tale to Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Shakespeare and Fairy Tales... explored! We shared parts of as a work-in-progress piece at Fables in September, now you can see Thereby Hangs a Tale here!

On 30th April I'm offering Tales After Dark - an adult storytelling show of stories and songs dripping in euphemistic delight! - at the Bank Vault, Aberystwyth.

There'll also be another Fables in April, and the Bookshop is running the Aberystwyth Poetry Festival in May!

And there will be a Crankie Festival in Aberystwyth packed with visual storytelling in June... storytelling galore!

Hello folks! I've finally recovered from the mischief that was The THIRD Goblin Masquerade in Borth, organised by the Goblin Circus, which was utterly wonderful! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the Market and the Ball, to all the performers and traders and volunteers who made it possible. Can't wait for next year... (and we might be brewing some extra events too... who fancies an afternoon of merfolk and sirens in Aberystwyth? Watch this space...) I've been sharing updates on...
